Motors for Caldercraft Schaarhorn
« on: June 14, 2014, 09:57:34 pm »

Hi all, have tried reading through past posts but couldn't seem to find the match I needed. I'm building the Caldercraft Schaarhorn and will run it on twin motors, Caldercraft supply some "interesting " white metal 3 blade props but I want to move to 4 bladed as per the real yacht - so brass 4 bladed 40mm props then, length of boat is 45" or 1140mm with a width of 7" or 180mm. I was thinking of a pair of MFA 919D's @ 2.5:1 but not sure how noisy these things are - I want it quiet as I'm adding steam sound. Suggestions for motors ESC's and batts extremely welcome, no problem with heavy batts as it needs a lot of ballast.
Thanks
Clive
