Yeah, went there last August at about 3 o'clock on Sunday - nobody there!

    Ok so it was coming down stair rods and black as night but you would think they could have made the effort...... %)

Dave.

PS My son lives in Truro.

I have known a few of the hardy members to crack the ice so that they can have a sail!
The two faithfuls turn up about 1.30 and set up,if conditions are that bad and no one else turns up they pack up themselves.
Like most clubs these days most members are elderly,and not a lot of point in sitting out in the mist sometimes.Our oldest active member is well into his 80s,and hires a taxi every week to bring him and his boats down to the lake.Now that is dedication to the hobby!

Mick
Not like back in the 'good old days' when we were down at Swanpool.... The sun always shined and the wind never blew any more than was necessary to give the 'stick and rag' boys a sail. Our batteries lasted forever and our SWMBO's kept us well stocked with tea and cakes.
What's that you say.......... No I'm not sure if I have taken my medication today, why am I hallucinating again...... {:-{

I must admit I am not one for putting my boats on the water,although I do enjoy it when I do! We only get 5 or 6 boats on the water these days,but a few more on our open day of course.
We make our own tea now.We always go down to the lake in our motorhome.and have Sunday lunch as well,so even better day out for us!
With the car park ticket is a voucher for one cup of tea!
