Hi, From a Newbie in Leicester
« on: July 13, 2014, 09:27:11 pm »

Hi, I joined this forum after looking through a few threads. I have bought a Star pond yacht, but not received it yet. I have also made a yacht ornament which would float as it is built out of a piece of scaffold board but has no keel. It is made from stuff i had laying about and didnt put a tape measure to it once. I used a minimum of tools and used my imagination.
I have just won a fibreglass hull on the bay and will be asking questions about what I need to build a scratch built pond yacht, like size of sail and mast, boom, wether it will need a better keel than the one which is molded, rudder size and fitting. I might make it as a rc model. I dont know the terms of all rigging and parts yet, but I learn pretty quickly. When my hull arrives, I will post pics in the right part of the forum.
Thanks
Ian
