Graupner radio
« on: July 31, 2014, 05:04:37 pm »

Right chaps, spot of assistance if you please:

I bought a Graupner 'Micro Magic' 4channel, 40mhz tx/rx a while back from a gentleman on here...lovely little radio, I've just installed it in my Robbe U-47. BUT...(and there's always a 'but')...both sets of vertical sticks are on ratchets, and ideally I'd like the left hand stick on a ratchet, and the right hand stick sprung.

Is this normal for this radio? I presume it's designed for the Micro Magic yachts? Is there a chance of getting spares for the tx, I'd need the spring and the arm if possible. And if so, where do I get them from?

Cheers guys,

Rich

Why are you using another radio set, when you've got an FC16?

Because I only have one Robbe/Futaba rx, and that's tucked away inside the Akula. This Graupner radio was sitting doing nothing, so I decided to use it in the U boat.

Have you tried the FC16 with the Graupner Rx? If they are both 40Mhz FM they should work together.

Umm...no, I haven't, never thought of that. I'll give it a go in a bit, just taken my medication and I'll be back asleep in ten minutes or so.

If it doesn't work, whip the back off the Graupner set and have a quick look, you might be able to convert it somehow?

Although I think you should just bite the bullet and order another  rx for the Fc16, you are rich, Rich.  ;D {-)

Just thought Rich, didn't I have a receiver  off you sometime ago to go with the 40Mhz Futaba radio? you are welcome to try that with the FC16 if you want.

Morning Ian,

I can't remember what you had now mate, every time you come over you go back with something!! I'll delve into the radio in a second, see what's what in there...just waiting on the painkillers to kick in.

I haven't got Jeff's mobile, only his landline...any good to you?

The Type V11 only just goes into the bathroom, no chance of it fitting the bath!

Rich,so what did you find i there then? the radio I mean. can it be altered easy?

I have Jeff's landline number, It was his mobile I wanted, just in case we somehow miss each other tomorrow, I'm sure it will be ok though.

So if that sub wont go in the bath will you be wanting me to fill the paddling pool, I emptied it the other day to clean it out, but would only take a little while to re-fill {-)

I found a HiTec 6 channel tx/rx, the sub came with a HiTec rx anyway, so that's saved me a lot of hassles...plus, it's a much better quality radio. And it has a rotary control, which will be very useful to use on the front planes.

The U boat is starting to go back together slowly now, haven't done much today (you'll see why next time you come over)...tomorrow I want to start on the new deck gun kits I have for it, and then after that, I have to fit building in between seeing my sister.

Monday is looking at new car day, think I've settled on one now.

Busy busy.... :o

The Hitec Rx will work with the Robbe FC16.
