Hi Everyone

No worries on the typo error Garry <*<
Colwick Park is such a good venue for what we do with its great facilities and close to lake parking area. With the summer recess etc, it seems a while since we all met up, so I for one are looking forward to seeing you all again for some good fun, banter and racing :-))

Hi folks

Will we see any new builds making their presence known at this next Nottingham event? Now without revealing identities, this boat might just be ready for its first D-Class race.... ok2

And this vid clip shows it on test last weekend:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTaeyXcs94U

Will it make an appearance at Nottingham?? If it does will it be good enough to compete with the many superb boats that compete in this class?

Craig :-))

Hi Folks

My brother Garry has in the B-Class been doing quite well this year holding second place in the championship league table. He was runner up Champion in 2013 in this class with his Challenger hull, powered by an old Webra 61 engine......there were too many times when his challenger has been passed by faster boats such as from Bernard Holder, and Malcolm Pratt running the CMB engines.

So what has Garry done to attempt to get more speed? He has fitted a smaller 52 size tuned west engine. Yesterday we gave it a blast and from the short clip (click link below), it should even up the odds for him at the next race at Nottingham :-))

Now that has put me on a good mood as topic back on track!

 :-)) :-))

Garry is worried that his fuel tank won't last for the fifteen minute heat durations.... I told him it won't be an issue......Because it will be flipping over and off the water for half that time  :} :} :}

Hi all

On new boats and engines......

Thanks for the bits and bobs (pics and video)  on Challenger  and Saturn Craig.

Saturn is a great offshore boat, the quality of the polyester gel coat and finish is the best I have seen.

(Was tempted to switch to west epoxy system but maybe for my next build.)

On challenger, have run one of those bomb proof old fashioned webras for two seasons so thought I'd spice up the boat with a new engine.

Both of the above BMPRS D class and B class entries are a big gamble for me as they have not been without teething problems and whilst both are race ready, they are certainly not race tested!!! Bring on Sunday! Can't wait to catch up with club members and enjoy a fab day out!

Well said Garry :-))

I guess I will be getting your boats off the starting blocks as us identical twin brothers feel compelled to do. :}

After that I hope your boats keep going so that I can focus my attentions on capturing key moments of the event on camera, voice recorder etc for a potentially very exciting write up in a future model boat magazine write up.

I too am looking forward to meeting up with our friends for a good chat and exciting fun. :-)

He hee hee! The mono pod for me was one of the best camera accessories I ever purchased.  ;)

I will have to keep it away from your hands, to avoid potential discomfort in future :D :} :-))

I commend you mate for having a good eye on details :-))
However the results tables don't show what happened during key moments during individual races. Photos perhaps do give a glimpse of the action at that moment in time?

Hi all.

Yes Kurt, your analysis of the detail is spot on.

My Saturn looks cool on the boat stand, but that's as good as it got! Had a moment of glory when ran fast, but lasted all of about 20 secs. Bit of investigative work going on as we speak. Diggers boat wax once again ballistic, reliable, well driven and a deserved d class winner this year!

Great pics Craig, I'll cross link these from bmprs site when I do the photo bit later in week.

Sunday whilst down on turnout was a great day. Some fab racing!

Finally, really do hope Kurt and missus will be back as soon as possible!!!

End of.

Worth bearing in mind, there's a bit of picture missing on the right hand side

which you can access by schroling the pic to the right.
