Guys...meet Dundee.
« on: September 10, 2014, 10:46:27 am »

Here we go, boys n' girls...say Hello to ''Dundee'', he's just landed in the UK from the good old US of A. Should look quite good out on the lake, I think...what say you?

Great project.

Is all the power/control going to be in the head and see how the rest follows or have you something else in mind?

Martin...I worry about you, I really do.  ;D

Alex...the r/c will be in a small OtterBox, mounted the same as on my swan, and fitted under the head section. The other two sections are connected via a short length of chain, and just follow the head with a nice 'wiggly' movement.

Will this be going down Princes Park in Eastbourne?

Please tell me yes, I have to be there to see people's reactions.

Very doubtful, TC...it's salt water, and I don't like sailing subs in salt water. However, it will be a regular (I hope...) at the other lake, Hailsham Common Pond...the idea is to get there early and leave Dundee lurking in the reeds, then fetch him out when everyone is sailing and talking, and see what happens. A dog or two walking around the shoreline would be good...

If it were twice the size, then yes...Dundee would look great on the Loch.  Maybe I should do a LN Monster next.  %)

Or maybe not....

Ok...vital statistics are as follows:

Head section...10.5''
Centre section...10''
Tail section...10.5''

Overall length (including chain joiners)...35''

Maximum width (centre section)...6''

He will be propelled along by a small cylinder, or a small OtterBox, depends on which fits the best, 50mm diameter x 240mm length, clipped under the head section. The cylinder will contain the motor, rudder servo, esc, rx and battery. The head will be the power section, the other two sections follow along behind with a very realistic (and seductive   :o  ) movement.

(ps...he's an alligator, not a crocodile!)
