Krick U25
« on: October 16, 2014, 08:45:21 am »

A while ago I had a bout of nostalgia,( stop laughing richard) and wanted to get hold of a krick u25 , the first rc sub I ever built,  well I did except I got two schuco hegi versions one still boxed and krick top hull, one of the hegi top hulls was damaged , so I built a new top deck from revell u boat decks, in the mean time  a guy in germany  produced a plastic deck for the u25 which is pretty good, here some pics, pete

Another view, both hegi hulls come ready shaped and only have 3 screw down points which are held by threaded inserts, the krick version I built was in 4 planks which needed to be shaped, and 5 threaded rods 3 of went into the keel bar, pete

Me...laugh? Now would I....yes!  {-) {-) {-)

I remember those well..those big blocks of obechi, glued together and then all those hours spent sanding them to shape...drove me mad doing mine. They make up into a lovely little boat though...yours looks nice with the Revell decks on, mate...nice job. Keep the pictures coming...I'll try and find some of mine, got some somewhere of it.

Spent a few hours today making a new  water tight hatch in perspex, was going  to use silicone to make the gasket , even thought about rubber strip, also need a water pump, my first u25 had this mod with a tank on the hatch it worked well no tearing around the lake trying to dive, will post pics, pete

Pete, I've got some self adhesive foam strip...if it's any good for your radio hatch gasket, just shout and I'll post you some.

That looks a lot better Pete, should be a lot more secure too.

When does giant Robin get his uniform issued to him? That's probably why he's looking unimpressed... ;D
