Howdy
« on: October 18, 2014, 11:46:40 pm »

Thought I had better introduce myself.

I got into RC boats through my Dad giving me a boat to finish off for him and it has snow balled from there!!!!!!!

He gave me a Monaco 100 special to finish off, which has now been completed. Had to remove stuffing tube as it was at totally the wrong angle, new tube fitted and motor mount, water pick up tubes fitted and larger batteries. Just need to run it wet to see how it goes. I have also started scratch building a 1/8th scale Riva Aquarama Lamborghini. The steam tug Saturn and the AHV Granit, both scratch builds using plans from http://freeshipplans.com/. I am also nearing completion of my home made CNC router/mill/engraver so cutting frames and templates out should be much easier and a lot more accurate!!!!!

Will post pics as and when the builds progress.

Hello and welcome Stewart.
I look forward to seeing any pictures of the Riva model as it progresses as this is the
type of model I am looking to make/acquire for my son.

There are many static models around but I understand they do
not convert easily and often part made from wrong type of 'wood' ie MDF.
