Launch works at last
« on: November 20, 2014, 06:57:38 pm »

After lots of trials I had a good day out today with the latest project. The burner was the first problem the ceramic insert was cracked which caused flame out in the bango. This was replaced with a metal mesh and brass pepper pot burner.
The second issue was a one of timing of the engine now sorted. Finally the home made prop was just not up to the job so the burner and hammer came out to improve matters.
I am sure that performance can still be improved  but at least I have something to work with now.  :-))

Lovely! Congratulation  Steamup! :-) She looks nice on the water. :-))
Just one thing: it looks like the steam is still coming out when the launch is at "STOP" position.
Am I wrong?
Regards.

Looks great! Turns well inside it's length. The Kitchener rudder is on my list to build one day.

Congrats
