Well, Tenchman, you certainly come from the right city to build a trawler, with your Docks museum on the doorstep for help and inspiration..........but you have picked a lovely model in the Empire class tug from Mountfleet..........builds into a beautiful model, and great presence on the water. good luck with it, and any problems, just post your questions on here..........but also, Adam at Mountfleet is a great lad for helping with any probs you have with the model, so first port of call is ALWAYS  the manufacturer.

As a fellow modeller from a city with a great fishing history, don't give up on the trawler- is just the plans you have or a commercially built glassfibre hull? I say this because with a ready built hull you are half way home.

Good luck with your build, check out the tug forum for inspiration on the tug, you will find plenty of folk here ready and willing to offer help.

Brian.

Hi John,
Welcome aboard. Good luck with the Trawler, re the Mountfleet tug have you looked at Mobile marine models range the hulls are in my opinion much better made than Mountfleet. I have three to build this year in order of build they are- Tid, Norton Cross and the Rosegarth. Hope you enjoy the forum.
      Cheers,
           Peter. :-))
