Looks really nice Rich.
At rest she should sit a little bows up to help with nose diving.
Best to have the tops of both batteries facing out board for best balance
trim and ballast as sla's are lighter at the top.
Get it in the pond lad  :-)) :-)) :-))

Thanks Ned..I've still got make the trays to hold the batteries, so I'll turn them as you suggest. She went into the bath yesterday for tests...on a pack of knackered nimh cells, it was trying to climb out of the bath and empty it at the same time, surprised me how much oomph it's got!

I'm not sure about that cabin though...it looks too big to me. Might revisit the drawing board...

Very nice rich, why not build a couple of different superstructure/wheelhouse assemblies
So you can have a change. I am curious as to what the servo/micro switches will be used
For.

Thanks John,

I'm thinking of building a Motorflote cab for it, like you say, I can have two different cabins for it. The drawing board is calling...

The servo/microswitch is for the horn...a B&Q door buzzer. Very simple, very loud, very cheap...bit like me really.  %)

Excellent build.  Looks very neat inside. As a personal preference I would have mounted the Rx vertically with the aerial pointing upwards inside the removable superstructure. Better reception and range.

Love your idea for interchangeable superstructures.  Almost like having a second tug.   :-))

Thank you, Bob...

I take your point about the rx placement, I've heard this before. In my 'Natalie Jane' tug (a much altered Southampton rtr tug) the rx (another Planet) the rx is right in the depths of the hull, it lays in the keel, and I can sail that right across our local lake without any problems. Maybe I'm just lucky....

Well, thank you sire...praise from the master.

The deck's not fixed down yet, just waiting on some styrene square section from Cornwall Model Boats to arrive, then I can get it done and dusted.

You can't beat a good microswitch...as us old dinosaurs always say. I lost the key to the motor  <:(  so Milbourn will have to be pressganged into towing duties. I have a piece of breadcrust on a piece of wire strapped to his beak as a tuning aid...

'Twill be done, oh masterful one...I've just been presented with the last crust from the scullery together with a large chunk of Cheshire's finest and a football sized onion, so if you could wait a while until the servants downstairs can make another loaf, it would be much appreciated. I have issued orders to the head chef, and I will be visiting the minions later to check on their progress.

Your 'umble servant...

They don't come much cheaper than me...only the lass who haunts the railway station car park after dark.

As per Ned's instructions, I've changed the batteries around and wired them up, made the frames to hold them in place and installed them. Next up...the installation of my superior horn sound system.

Cough splutter...f**t indeed! My horn is the horn of all horns...hit the microswitch, the buzzer sounds, and the back door opens. Beat that, Mr Inertia!
