Hi,

After a couple of hours of happy sailing with my 48th scale Flower class corvette I bumped something (a log I think) in the pond, the corvette slowed and I went full astern then nothing.

Prop had come off.

As I now don't have it can anyone tell me what size of prop fits a 48th scale Flower class and is it right hand or left hand?

That'll teach me. Just read through the Agassiz book and the real one is 10' 6" in diameter with a rh orientation.

Hi sandy.
 Sounds like you didnt put super glue or thread lock on the shaft when you fitted the prop.  Appears the prop has wound its self off  when you went full astern.  A 50mm would suffice.  Have one here if you are in a hurry

I think Glasgow Richmond should invest in a waterproof metal detector. They would surely trawl up a hole bucket of props from the bottom and sell them on line.

If the real one was 10.5 feet, a 1/48th one would be 2.6 inches or 67mm.

If Glasgow Richmond were to buy a waterproof metal; detector it would certainly have to be gunge proof as well...

The bottom of the pond has a nice gooey layer of mud made up mainly of Swan & Duck Droppings...

We have problems with geese 'dooins' on the grass around our pond, they poop olympic style and used to cover our wooden jetty as well. Luckily, our land lord scrapped it and we have been building a new jetty and slipway covered in hardcore which the gooses don't like treading on.

Isn't it "geese"? But what happens when your jetty gets more than one mongoose on it. Is it mongooses, mongeese or mongi?

Ah now there we are. The Collective Noun for Geese is too rude to repeat on here but I think the collective noun for Mongeeses is Mongeese.
