My motor turned up today, so I plonked it in, and tried it in the bath. She sits beautifully static, won't know about the rest until its complete....


I'll let the video speak for itself. I'm fully aware this is a stupid amount of power for a huntsman, its comedy gold. I doubt I'll be able to keep it keel side down.... the video shows around 1/2 power I would estimate.

The motor is as far forward as I can go, and there are two 4S 4000mAh lipos buried as deep as I could go either side of the propshaft. As you say, it might not be enough. Some finesse may be required.

Defo as M8 has Huntsman and uses lipo's and has to borrow 4x12v Nimh batt packs to weigh her down and that is NOT enough....bank on around 4lb to get her to the water line and to perform....ask Inertia on here

Mine didn't need any ballast at all        .....................but the 46" I/C-powered one needed a lot of lead at the back.
That is a ludicrous amount of power, BTW. Try 3S packs? My advice is to trim for performance and treat the waterline as decoration.

Nobby...from the video ......one could suggest that she certainly has a generous reserve of power  ...

Not sure you will need to consider water cooling as the stern wave will finally catch up & swamp the lot  ......Derek

Looks like the same hull I'm using for the 'Fantasy Huntress' what's the all up weight ? I'm convinced the cabin / deck on mine is too heavy . . . .
I've lightened it as far as I can go , it's riding lower than yours . . .
The only other weight saver I can do is . . . . LIPO'S

I don't know what it weighs, there isn't much to it I suppose as the upper structure isn't that posh. I've not had it out in a while, I really should.
