Loony? You'd have to be completely demented to take part in something like that. Apart from the 'random' racing line that most of them take I love the way that some are clouted and then lie dead for a couple of seconds, then spring back to life. It's almost supernatural!
As Will Smith's character in 'Independence Day' says, "I gotta get me one of these!"

We have a lot of laughs at the lake, I am going to video the race from the Start line because I cant get the comments and laughter from where I film it, they can be hilarious, they are a great bunch to be with.

I also dabble in fast electrics and would be very interested to compare notes on what your set up is in detail please -
and the icing on the cake would be some close up photos if possible.
Your models look very well sorted with an excellent fast self righting chamber,
this alone can be difficult to get the sizing right - enough water to flip the boat quickly without it sinking etc.
Might be tempted to buy one !

regards Paul

Hi Paul there is no self righting system, just a lump of lead in the bottom of the hull.
They seem very durable and not much damage is sustained in the races.
As for cost £230 plus postage, they are made to order by one member, he makes almost everything himself.
Regards,
Bernie.

Hi Bernie,
Many thanks for the piccies the models look great !
Very clever use of a lump of lead along with the cockpit bubble helping to right the model,
I was convinced you had cracked the flood chamber method.
I and many more enthusiasts I'm sure would be interested in some in depth specs of the models if at all possible please, ie hull size (difficult to guess from the photos), motor spec, prop and especially lipo size
because you do seem to get a very long running time at full speed,
thanks again Paul
If your guys want something a much smaller and not so quick one of our KLMBC members does his own kit,
its in the traders section under - The New Fun-4 boat kit by DREMAYHIPPO

Well I can give you all the things you need, but I need to have a chat with the designer & maker to see if he will be agreeably with this, as this may be against his protocol.

Please forgive me but I don't want to tread on his design.

Bernie.

That is crazy, none of the boats appear to be able to run in a straight line, they leap about like salmon going back up the river and I have no idea how you know who has won as no one appears to go around all the buoys.
But it does look like great fun, might have to talk swmbo into getting me one

This is all in the New Forest at our lake, very close to Stoney Cross.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Stoney+Cross,+Lyndhurst,+Hampshire+SO43/@50.8991345,-1.6428065,1603m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x48738e686286abdf:0xe53ad9cb9a846206?hl=en

You will need to park in the public car park and walk a few yards to the lake.
Be great to meet you there we are there every Sunday ask for Tony.
Bernie.
