hi I have a Clyde puffer the length is 1016mm (40")
The beam is 279.5mm (11")
Height to top of cabin 381mm (15")
Height to top of mast 762mm (30") so can any one tell me what the scale this boat is please and if I was to make some thing for it like the funnel what is the formula to do this thanks

The original puffers were designed to fit within the Forth and Clyde canal locks, with a maximum length of 20m, although open sea types reached up to 27m.  You would need to know which ship the model was based on to be precise but a scale of 1 to 20 would approximate the original vessels.

Take a look at the door in the cabin. Doors are generally between 6ft and 6ft 6" in height. that will give you  a reference to work from.

My Mountfleet 'Highlander is 33 in. x 9.5 in. at 1:24 Scale. At 40 in. this would equate very closely to 1:20 . Highlander would have been one of the earlier Puffers built to fit the 20 M Locks, although I have read that they were actually built to 66ft!! (Sorry Bob!)

My Funnel is 140 mm x 35 mm, which for you Paul would be something like 170 x 43.
