semi scale borodino
« on: September 25, 2015, 06:46:16 pm »

This is a flat bottomed hull at around 4ft long using Glynn Guests techniques to build the hull , its still early days yet the hull is constructed from plywood, birch ply and card and cladded with 10 thou plasticard with rivet detail, she has a wilesco  d49  steam engine  and  a ceramic burner ,getting run times of around 15 minutes shes no greyhound  and not pretty,  pete

Borodino fore deck and bow planking,  a sheet of thin birch ply was  used, the planks were marked in pencil and then again in black gel pen, let dry and any stray pencil marks removed with an eraser, then a coat of ronseal  clear satin varnish, the barbette base is from the ends of carpet rolls, a 180 degree servo will be fitted into it to rotate the turret , regards  pete

No worries Pete. Have you any plans to add more ships to your fleet? How is Thunderchild doing? Or is she already complete??

I am sure that Deans do a hull in 1:96th Pete.

I do think though that you get a great look with your hulls so don't abandon building them yourself!

She's coming along smart Pete.

The ships are so attractive during this period of transition from Black and white (white and white for foreign stations) to grey of various shades.
