Thanks Ian, these boats have long gone ,maybe their designs are antiquated but the design and construction  of these boats are fascinating. Another pic of the secondary armament,  bridge and railings, pete

Tested Borodino today with her new 60mm four bladed prop. Even with  stiff westerly scale 4s and 5s she was making head way  beam on the wind got hold of her but she was still able to make decent turn. Still getting run times of approximately  fifteen  minutes, she looks  intimidating, no pics yet hopefully next week, regards  pete

On the last shot Pete, were you aiming for the ducks or the shed?

Very nice piece of work and it'll look great at Wickstead with the rest.

Thanks Tony, i think it was the shed, i was really pleased with the performance  on a single prop , I also  gave borodino a run, again really  pleased with the performance  and handling the 4 blade 60mm prop gives her a fair turn of speed, regards  pete

I suppose that is the jy of sharing your pond/lake with other interests especially if it is a municipal facility.

Hi Pete,
Borodino sailed really well dispite the cold / wind conditions , And the obstacles.  At least the pond has water in it

I am Green with envy Pete! What a lovel warship. Russian Pre dreadnoughts look very sinister in their black scheme.

Using Phtotshop, you could recreate the entire class on the lake :o

I am feeling the thousands of miles of sailing loaded to the gunwales with coal and grumpy sailors from the look of the model Pete.

She looks quite deep and so I can understand your redesigning access to the hold for the battery etc.

Hi Ian  ,with the flat bottom and no curves there a lot of space, there are four assorted gel cells in the hull for ballast and because shes wide even a fair in a  blow she is very stable, hoping to have a sail next week if everythings ok then its back to the superstructure.
This model started out as lets see if i can build something for steam and the wilesco d48 runs this boat well but thats down to alan and tim, i break it they mend it ! another  view of the of the stern the two square openings  between  the funnels are over the vents in  boiler heat shield, parts of the bridge and rear superstructure  are designed to let air in and heat out, regards  pete
