model slipway
« on: October 14, 2015, 04:38:16 pm »

Hello all

Having just build 2 club 500 boats i now feel ready to have a go at building a more detailed kit.

Model slipway have been very good to me so would like to stay within their range.

So i will be going to Blackpool this week end , can anyone recommend a kit for inexperienced builder that i may be able to build over the winter, cost up to 350.

I also have a set of pictures for my build of the 500 but feel like no real point in putting on build log as there are lots already.

So getting back to which model was thinking maggie m or maybe a tug,

please guide to me correct boat dont want to buy one that is to much for me

thank you

Of the 'full' kits which they still produce, Al Khubar is perhaps the most straightforward to build (even though it has twin motors), followed by the Coaster (in either version). The lifeboats are very pretty but not at all easy to build.

It's all about personal choice when it comes to colour schemes , you don't have to stick to the original name / colours , I went for red and white with a matt green deck and wheelhouse roof , think they call it "modellers licence" in certain circles ...

Strangely enough Boxer Our Lass will probably be my next venture so keep in touch  :-)) :-))

Crackin' colour scheme Murph.I love Slipway stuff and have  a semi built Our Lass.I have been agonising for ages whether to go "off scheme"and do my own colours.Do you happen to know who might do a set of bespoke transfers of the same quality and style as those supplied with the kit.
Love to see more pictures of your built.

Cheers,Will.
