Perhaps your not aware that the cost of the venue this year alone increased by £3k with a further £1k next year. That being the case do you really think that £9 entrance fee is excessive? The contract for the current venue is also renewal after next year, with the likelihood of further steep increases should the organisers wish to continue with the show.

 Dave

Warwick this year is £ 9.50 on the day, as LB says the costs have increased for the Venue this year quite substantially with further incremental increases due, and the ticket price was held this year as the leaflets had already gone out,  however the show is a not for profit show with proceeds going to Charity's so no large cash pot to absorb increases, Hopefully the Convention will be able to donate some more again to charity's from this years show.

£9 for an excellent day out, I consider that good value, put together the work done by the organisers and the first class facilities offered also the meeting of lots of friends, with the option of emptying the wallet, you would be hard pressed to better the costs involved, I am not one of the wealthy rich just a normal pensioner but appreciate the hard work involved putting everything together with all the Clubs and traders centered on our hobby not a multi hobby exhibition. Well done everyone involved morepower to your elbow. Howard Q. :-)) :D

Dave,
here is some thoughts for you........
Average cinema ticket £12
Average game of football £20
Average theme park £45

So realistically £9 is not a bad price for a day out

Thanks for the support, The price increase was unfortunately forced upon us, we do not raise prices if we can help it. As previously mentioned the Convention is a not for profit organisation and where possible any additional proceeds are passed on to various charity's which would not be possible without your support, although I have just noticed the details about the 2015 donations have vanished from the website so will have to get that sorted !!

Moving on, The results list has been sent so will get that listed on the Website ASAP as well as all the other photo's and Video, Just had a bit of catching up to do after being away from home for the last Weekend ..

You don't get a lot for 9 quid these days, The convention is the exception to the rule.
A chance to see hundreds, if not thousands of superb models, buying your bits and pieces from real traders instead of faceless online shops, meeting your old friends and making some new ones.... I'll certainly be paying my 9 quid next year, and also spending the forty odd quid on fuel AND the eight hour round trip to do so  :-))

Perhaps you could put on a show of the same size and quality cheaper?

Hi. Just as an afterthought, by the time my friends  and myself have spent somwhere in the region of £400 each in transport and accomodation for the trip to Haydock, £9 fades into insignificance, I think since the Convention started somewhere about 1992 I have only missed a couple of shows, this year being one of them, not because of prices just other commitments, I hope the commitee are succesful in renegotiating a favourable fee for the future, but non the less  I hope to be there with some new models. Considering the effort and time the organisers and volunteers put in,it's a small price to pay,it must be about the best organised show in the country.

My comments seem to have upset  lot of members ;As i said the show was great as it always is and  know a great deal of effort
goes into setting one up , I have been involved in motorcycle shows in the past at big venues and they have never put prices up
20% a year .
