Whats the best way to get to Haydock  from near Liverpool city centre?....

GPS says one thing, AA says another, the AA route finder to think i should go onto the m62 and then down the m6

i would think avoiding motorway is best.....

i would pick something like the a58 or the a570 or the a580?

Is there a reason to go on the motorway..... other than them making me sit in a traffic jam?

The GPS should be the best if you have it set for quickest route , it's a bind getting out of Liverpool but once you get to the M58 >M6> & turn off your there in no time.

East Lancs A580 the best.  My fellow convention friend myself and 2 other people went to Haydock from the Wirral, I and the 2 other people went M62 M6 the other chap went A580 when we arrived he had been waiting 25 minutes for us and he is not a fast driver, and we had no holdups.

Im a bit wary of the GPS....I had a stand at IPMS Scale Model World last year and also at the Merridiene Warwick model boat show I was driving back to the M40 at Warwick to the hotel after the show from Telford....ended up by Scotch corner.....

I agree with Stavros , I had a great day yesterday loads of superb models to admire and Trade stalls to buy parts , Action have just launched there new sound unit the P110 Noisy Thing 2 , I should have held on when i bought my P100 and separate 15 watt amp last year , the P110 as the amp built in and is cheaper . Looking forward to the new Blackpool Model Show now it sounds like its going to be a good do now its run by Comp Shop . There are plenty of people i talk to who did not go to Blackpool last year are going to the new show .

By the way there was a new trader called Clyde Model Boats he said it was his first show , He sells had a very large range of brass parts , very similar to the stuff Modeling Timbers sell but as we all know Modeling Timbers will no longer be doing shows so it is good there will be someone you can get these type of parts from at show as i for one like to see parts before i buy them.

Agree with all the comments. I went on Saturday and had a cracking day.Well laid out, spacious and airy.A great display put on by the club's,some well stocked trade stands and a really good array of offerings at the bring and buy. My mate and I managed to find room in the car for three boats to take home.Thank you to all the volunteers who make this show possible. It really is up there with the best of them.

I don't take many stills these day's , a 30 second movie shot is my way , but any that take my fancy I will snap .
Dave Wooley's HMS Skirmisher (from Model Boats Magazine) was on display . . .

Colin Vass displayed his , under construction , Italian Cruiser Zara . . .

This will be the equal of his HMS Warspite .

A Scottish club member ( Lache Stewart ?)with his Scotia . . .

Highly detailed.
I'm sure the 'serial' photo posters will be making an appearance soon.
