A question of scale
« on: December 01, 2015, 04:49:43 pm »

I have a plan that is 750mm or (1:114 not a misprint!) in size and I want it at 893mm (1:96) for the ease of getting scale parts for it. Can anyone do the scale conversion please? I've done it and came out with 119% which doesn't seem correct.

"To calculate the percentage increase: First: work out the difference (increase) between the two numbers you are comparing. Then: divide the increase by the original number and multiply the answer by 100"

So 893 - 750 = 143 / 750 = 0.190666666rec x 100 = 19% increase
therefore original dimensions multiplied by 119% = new size..(QED)

Just divide 114 by 96
