Hobbyking quikrun issue
« on: December 05, 2015, 02:23:00 pm »

Has anyone used these? I've bought three and am having the same problem with each. The red light continues to flash when it turns on and it doesn't register throttle inputs. The BEC is working fine as the servo plunged into the same Rx works. On the first one I took the pins out, plugged them in individually and it worked. I've tried that same thing on the others and no joy. Ideas?

I would think the flashing indicates no rx pulse to the esc.
Obviously the pos and neg are there as indicated by the
bec.
Does the servo react to inputs from the stick?
If so the rx is ok on that channel.
Try the esc in the working channel to eliminate
the rx.
All that's left is the esc.

I've probably missed something out which others
Will be happy out.

Hey Ned,  I tried that and the servos fine. Thinking faulty signal wire. I don't want to go slicing plugs though so I guess I'll have to send it back :(

Hi Tom

I have just bought one of these to go in a Springer with an old johnsons 550 motor
It is 'half installed' so I can't run it without pulling it out of the hull.

I ran it briefly when I unpacked it, and it seemed to be OK after a bit of faffing about.

ISTR that the neutral point (where the red LED is off) was very narrow and it was
very quick to start flashing when I moved the throttle lever.

Tip : Ensure that your transmitter is switched on and throttle trim is set to its neutral/mid point
then leave everything alone for 3 seconds plus when you switch the ESC on so that it can
calibrate itself - you should get a long beep.

I will pull all the electrics out the next day or two and give it another test and get
back to you if that will help.
