Ann Lititia Russell
« on: January 20, 2016, 08:43:48 pm »

I am looking to build a 1;12  scale model of a 41' Watson lifeboat, Metcalf Mouldings used to make one, but is not now in production.
Can anyone help me find one that may be "floating" around as an unfinished project.

I know from talking to my friend Neil about this boat and his other lifeboats as I fancied one of them but couldn't make my mind up which model to pursue, that although he sold his other lifeboats, he retained the Ann Letitia Russell, as he is renewing the moulds for the castings. In the end, he got me a second hand kit of the Rother.

But he is apparently on a  sabbatical at present enjoying his retirement.

apparently he  was to re mould some of the ann letitia russel moulds but not sure when that may be or ever likely it to  be  ive been waiting for his liverpool class kit to come out for several yrs now but i hear he as now  retired. now thats all well and good and i wish david all the very best in his retirement but i wished  he  would make some sort of  announcement or something on his website ( still in opperation and advertising  i believe ) or as im aware nothing also been said in the model boats magazine. im sure some on here will take this the wrong way but just a bit disappointed the way he as gone about things. if he  has retired and as no plans or as plans to re manufacture the ann lettitia russel and the liverpool class i wish he could have made clarifiction or some sort of statement  for this.

Agreed Typhoon,
A statement of future intentions from Dave would be a lot better than
second hand gossip, however well intentioned.

i think ive been  patient enough .  like the man said just fed up with all this secondhand "xxxxx" .  he should  at least have the decency to let his valuable past and present  customers know either way on his website or in the magazines.yet he still advertises  his  models and as done so for over a yr now  since his retirement without no explanations or contact details.

Hi Guys
The ALR is available from Dave Metcalf and are made to order at this time
I got mine last September 2016 and have to say its a really nice kit the upgrades
include CNC cut thick wood parts all new moulds for the white metal fittings.
I posted this at the time I got mine on another thread here.

Perhaps you should just try giving the Dave a ring I am sure you will find him as helpful as always.

Regards

Derek

I took these photos of her only the other day. she looks very forlorn at the moment, uncovered and exposed to the elements.

Charlie

funny you should ask that Charlie, but NO......... formative years devoted to Norfolk.

But I was around at Neil's house the other day chatting and he showed me the video that I told him about on here and he had picked up on youtube a couple of years ago. Between 0.22 seconds and 0.29 secs there is a young lad in the crowd with light grey jumper, white collared shirt, bowl cut blonde hair and his arms folded..........that is Neil, second row back and standing next to an older chap with his hand up to his eyes and looking towards the prom shielding them from the sun. A jumper his mum had knitted him.
Always around at a practice launch he told me,
