Now that is CAMERA WORK at it's best . . . . I couldn't hold a camera that still for more than a few minutes . . . .
Good stuff Martin , I tend to use short vid's these days instead of snap's , you seem to see much more .

Thoroughly enjoyable three and a bit days

A big thanks to the organisers for the 19th year and congratulations to King Lear MBC for winning the best club stand.
Met up with the usual suspects- Steamboat Phil, Stavros, Mrs Stav, Klunk, and Chuffy to play the pranks all on Phil's expense!
Met some more Mayhemers- The Man in dazzle shirt that tried to compete with the Train Ferry paint work-or better known as Martin, Capt Povey, Victorian, Baloo, Carl (Linkspan), Ron Dean, and many more.
Had some enlightening chats with visitors about Dad's Train Ferry, admiring remarks about the WW1 fleet of battleships, cruisers and destroyers, and as Phil mentioned to me before we packed up I had a rather strange turn buying a Thames Barge hull, plans and fittings!!!!

Some magnificent models on show and some great people to talk to, and buy bits from.
And finally, Wicksteed Park MBC are chuffed to bits with getting joint third with the Life Boat Enthusiast Society in the best club stand competition

Now relaxing and enjoying a beer before unloading starts tomorrow.

The cakes were thrust upon me by people on the stand opposite. Not my fault!

That said, when I write up the show on my blog next weekend, my readers expect cake reports and complain if they don't get them!

Can someone please explain how 3 days can pass so quickly ........... however to be serious, a BIG thank you to everyone who took part in the pool demonstrations.
It was fantastic to see the two large aircraft carriers moving around ( Mr Mayhem's camera was loving every second of it) and the session with all the ferries and cargo ships was stunning to watch. The 'wacky' collection was delightful .... duck, swan, seagull, Father Christmas, 'The Black Pig' galleon, the tug with a face (moving eyes) & smoke and of course the superb rowing model (thanks Jason).
Chris Scott once again came over from France with the James Bond 'Q' boats (please can we have the pool water back !!!!) and we had Paul Chilcott's stunning 'Voyager of the Seas' on the pool alongside Mick French's huge QE11.
As usual the Lifeboat gang did us proud and great to have Andy Griggs (Models by Design) on the water with his new hull/kit.

To all those that helped out in any way (particularly the Kids sessions) many thanks

Yes great show Steve and you did a sterling job sir!
Spent way more time at the pool that I planned too!

Lots of unseen model there this year, lots of fun, lots of chat and thanks to All the Mayhemers that came up and said hello!

Those carriers are really annoying me

[Probably classes as rivet counting, but there you go. Anyone else notice it? (It's not the ships ...)]
