« on: April 11, 2016, 06:26:49 pm »

hi

I quite liked the look and size of model, so what can i do with this and what is it

got a few models to make before so probably a winter project for next year, or i may swap sell for something else if i find it to much for me

few photos

approx 35 inches, has some sort of window seal round it and looks fairly new paint all around, also had a resin coating on inside

HI Boxer, Its an RAF rescue launch, probably an Aerokit or from Vintage models, have a look on the forum there are lots of them, make into a sound scale model, looks like a nice build, wooden hull, might have been intended for IC power but very easy to convert to electric, (nice brushless motor will have it running like a dream

Hope this helps

It certainly looks like an Aerokits Fireboat...two of which were built by Vospers of Portsmouth as rescue tenders for the flying boats based at Calshot on Southampton Water.
Numbered 93 and 94, lots more info here...http://model-boats.com/
search Google for Vosper Fire boat and you get loads of info....a lot of kits were built in the 60's and 70's with nitro motors....now finding their way onto the market, and they make nice boats.
Best of luck whichever way you decide to go with your purchase.
