Do you still need to book in for the show or turn up with your boats.

back when it was a great show.
As for the show being back on well nothing on the beal park website and nothing on mid thames model boat club  site. Google beal park model boat show 2016 and nothing. So I would say its not on

will get those websites sorted. unfortunately was booked last may. don't think it really clashes with mayhem. mayhem weekend is not a show it's a gathering of mayhem members

Uh Hum Phil

What we are getting at is the fact that both events could have higher attendance rates if they didn't clash, after all Mayhem is a show and it has been going for ten years on the same weekend for all of them.
I would have loved to visit Beale, my club have even suggested it in the past before last year but now it can't be because it conflicts with the show we help host.

Sorry mate, but the clashing of dates for last year and this year will mess up numbers for both shows. <:(

Mayhem not a show ?  Might want to think about that one ,being going 10 years this May .
If you booked it in May 2015 for 2016 would it have been wise to announce the dates of the 2016 in May 2015 so other shows can work around it and not leave it until April 2016 to announce it .

John
ps Mayhem 2016 was first talked about on 16 april 2015 and dates set May 26th 2015

Phil the flippant statement you make alienates people and comes across that only people
From the forum go to mayhem and everyone else to Beale.

Many people not on the forum visit mayhem and what makes your event a show
And mayhem not a show?

not a flippant statement. i have been to several mayhem weekends as part of the old ateamboatyard and it is a gathering of mayhem members although a fun highly social one. i did inform forum management that we had booked that date back in june last year and it was not deemed a problem. i do not believe it will clash they are dissimilar events. it would be nice if people could be if not possitive at least not negative about both events. at the end of the day the date was set by beale management and they dont look at mayhem. personally i wish the mayhem weekend good luck and hope it all goes well

All these replies and yet not one single actual date mentioned - from either those involved or any organisers.

And people wonder why the clubs and events don't get support.

Phil,
You are not talking sense.
I have to drive past Beale to get to Mayhem.
I used to be a supporter of Beale until I lost leave booked to attend and the show cancelled.
There was offers of help to organise the Beale show as there are obviously problems.
Last year I do remember an approach that Mayhem must change their dates as it would clash with Beale.
It is not surprising with this attitude that Beale will not be as successful as it could be.
Unfortunately Beale does not carry the same goodwill as it used to and would have thought that instead of clashing and showing a "certain" attitude you would be trying to maximise your attendance.
Obviously not!!!

I searched this site a few weeks ago looking for the event dates - no luck - the official website - no information.

So it's a detective job split across old forums and people in the know. Brilliant.

Same as all the other threads titled 'Open Day' that are unsearchable - event listings without adresses, dates, weblinks or any other information.

I suppose secret meetings are a good way to keep the riff-raff away.

you cant get much more open that the title of the thread! look at the first post and when it was posted. the biggest problem all forums have is you can only post on the calendar for the current year!

Hi Bob
very well put. I to was a fan of the show until they started all the problems that are documented. I full agree with you on : Unfortunately Beale  does not carry the same goodwill as it use to. I remmber back in 1995 it was the high light of the UK model boat show. It going to take a hell of a lot of work to get it back to what it use to be like . Looks like the new lot are not intrested at all.
