Club 500 FPV
« on: May 10, 2016, 12:46:08 pm »

Hi Guys,

Just for a bit of fun during our last Club 500 race at BMBS, I attached a cheap eBay keyfob spy cam to the top of the boat to see what it was like.... the camera is utter rubbish, but the footage is quite interesting:

Enjoy,

:-)....that appeard quite evenly matched until the 20 second point  <*<.....

In this Class 'Club 500 FPV', do you use constant speed/RPM & just a dab to Port on the rudder at each marker?

Hi Guys,

Some replies to the questions asked:

  • derekwarner_decoy - "Club 500" is the entry level electric racing, we all use the same kits from the same supplier, same battery specs etc, control is very crude, microswitch attached to a servo for go and another for rudder control... keep the hammer down at all times!  :-)) http://www.club500slipway.com/
  • TheLongBuild - I used the, "anti-shake" function in Youtube which has done an amazing job of making the video watchable, in the original, the time and date stamp is rigidly fixed in the bottom right corner. I admit, not my greastest race, but I did go on to manage 13 laps that heat and I am still leading overall.  :} http://www.bridmodelboats.co.uk/fastelectrics/club500/results2016.htm

Great Video Alex, but sorry to say you have 13pts (9+4) & Jon has 15pts (9+6).
That was a classic Buoy Strike though.......

My apologies Alex, I got confused with the way Ian had posted the results, Jon's only on 10 isn't he? :-))

Here's a video of last years final race, which was a bit bonkers! %%

Are you not using the M shaped course, as I did not see you turn Right at all .

Hi Len,

No, we are using a triangular course running anti clockwise with a gate off the racing line, on the side nearest the starting gates.

Personally I think an "M" shape course could be fun, might be something for next years BMBS FE Captain to consider.... ok2
