I had a rare stroke of luck today when I went searching the charity shops for 12" figures in the kids boxes - where else?  Apart from being shocked that 'vintage' Action Men are selling for £38, my eyes fell on a dusty box on a high shelf. It turned out to be one of these. Label on box said 'Incomplete' - £10. So I nabbed a wee bargain and on getting home I found the 2 missing parts in the base of the box, so it was not incomplete at all.

The model reproduces a typical dhow used in the waters surrounding the Arabian peninsula for fishing and coastal trading. During the colonial occupation, the Italian Navy armed them with 37 mm guns.
