Canning tug conversion to towing query
« on: June 01, 2016, 11:23:38 am »

Does anyone know where I can either get or how to make a working towing hook to replace the white metal setup currently on my canning tug so I can use the hook for towing

Have you spoken to Brian at Mobile Marine Models?

He will surely have an answer.

What we have done before is make a metal hook and fit it through the after bulkhead under the scale hooks
Then you can tow on the false hidden hook and keep the scale ones above it.

That's a great idea thanks for that and thanks for pic also . Managed to get a tow on standard hooks thanks to mmm advising me but must say was nervous. Will do fake hook so I can tow bigger barges though and to calm nerves
