sorry guys, but my friends had a bad turn done to them by a not so honest person at the last show. So won't be attending again.

Got better results selling here on mayhem. At least the buyers were genuine.

0ne bad egg at the show does not relate to the
guys running the b&b which has had nothing but
good reviews from the Mayhemmers that attend.

The fact you had a bad experience should not
discourage others from attending.

it certainly doesn't ned, and I was in touch with the organisers of the event who were very supportive and very annoyed that such an event took place, and said they would be watching out this September.

however it was a long drive and my friends were saddened that a fellow modeller could do this to others, and that is why they are staying away, so as not to cause confrontation with the person, to what is noted as a very good show.

It is buyer beware, i flog surplus servos, i test them in front of the buyer,  i bought a model heli, a chinook from a guy, just to have some fun with, it was faulty, hey ho, £20 down the drain,  but it wont put me off, i will be there again, with still more servos, but i have to laugh, one tight "bottom" commented he can get cheaper new, were from? He showed me the add, on ebay, futaba FAKES, one flea in the ear later, i dont sell crap, i dont own crap,   So dont despair, get the guys phone number, ring it there and then,  its used, but it should still work, i always offer my details, as should others,    Its a great event, superb club event, theres more brass than muck there, the fun is digging the good stuff out!   Anyone have any aircraft stuff, bring it along,

I now know the fully unsavoury details of the members reasons above for not attending, it borders on criminal, its certainly not ethical, and not what i would expect of a model maker,  BUT, its still a good do, and the incident was not to do with the merchantable value of an item, not really anything to do with the swapmeet, its still full of good clobber to root through,  great gear, great food, and a great atmosphere, i will have 200 servos there, in great condition, you can see them working,

I can assure you it had nothing to do wirh the swapmeet, just an item that as being delivered there to a guy who had a stall, the transaction did not go well, but, again, no fault of the swapmeet, or the fantastic home club, its well organised, great guys, fantastic food ( if they dont burgers). and bargains to be had,

I think the 1 negative comment about an individual,  I might add and not the meet has been done to death,  I have never been but have only ever heard good reports about this event and that there are some good bargains usually to grab.

Move on promote the good about this event not the negative.

Well said Larry...we SHOULD be promoting shows however big or small they are and NOT dragging something up that happened OUTSIDE the show...I know exactly what happened and I can say it was NOTHING to do with the show....Best of luck lads with the show, long may it last

Well, its been, its gone, high points, the ladies in the kitchen, i go to a fair few swapmeets, i run 2 of our own!  Yet nowere do we get fed like this, bacon butties, pea and ham soup, cheese and onion pie, meat and potato pie, mushy peas, apple pie and cream!! 20 out of ten for the boat club ladies, and the guys best in the land! Brought some home for tea too,  so, thats the food, now the actual event, Hmm

Lot of great looking boats, 2 model shops, some a tad expensive for some tastes, but probably equate to hundreds of hours work, but folk dont recognise that aspect, some of the servos and radios found new homes, still got loads left, i got cheesed off tight guys lecturing me on hobbi kings servo prices, if thats what you want, go for it, but dont compare the two!   it was quieter than usual, but well attended, roll on next years!
