Nice to see that bluish translucent tinge  e2v

Just a question......when the header was fabricated, are the opposite welds fillet the same colour on the flat inner face? and was the header gang milled to cleanup on the interface?

Hi all another update, my customising days are obviously behind me, I used to be good at this, still the advantage is I can always respray with another job, and I'm already thinking of something

 Involving black and gold.

Hi all here is the next update, I really am enjoying this (I know the paint job ain't the greatest but I've not ruined the kit, the way I've painted it, it's easily over sprayed and none of it will show) this is a great kit, I was going to build this oob but I'm sorely tempted to add lots of detail, I'm just worried if I do i may end up ruining another one, I seem to be in a catch 22 at the moment, I want to do more but I'm worried if I do i will ruin it.

Don't paint over that gorgeous Dragon motif Ken:O) In real life someone would pay thousands for paintwork like that and you have recreated  a wonder in miniature. So you have used a style of painting, but it is exactly that, a style. The Dragons are absolutely so, the backgrounds are colourful and interesting and a well applied lacquer will have it hollering to be put on the mantelpiece.

Lovely work mate and coming along

I was looking at the first close up image thinking, Ok, its not bad but perhaps not your best work Ken, and then I saw the last image and your reputation is restored to its full majesty. If there was a market for 1:12th scale leather furniture I would be knocking on your door to distress them.

The leather is even worn more on the drivers side!
Lovely finish  :-))

Hi all, well I thought I was getting there(I always knew the paintwork was rubbish but I can and will be spraying over that) this is turning out to be another failure the instructions show the door latch pointing down (don't, point it upwards, it won't clear the gap in the inner door skin) admittedly that's not down to me, that's the instructions, however I cannot get the doors to open (whatever glue I use shutting the doors puts stress on the hinges and forces them off, also the gap around the door is horrendous( I wish I hadn't cut them out) all in all another ruined kit, the kit it's self is great, it's the idiot putting it together. When I respray it, it will be one colour, hopefully it will look better for that, still a few bits to put on it but I can't see them doing much for the overall model.

Hi all well it shows how much notice my missus takes of my modeling, since I was sat right by her on the couch whilst painting this, she said "did you paint those dragons or are they transfers " I said "yes I painted them, I know they're rubbish, I'm going to spray over them" she said " don't you dare, they're fantastic" go figure. Anyway here it is done. Wish I'd done a better job but looks like I'm stuck with it the way it looks now.

I appreciate we are our own worst critic, but thanks be to the wisdom of your Wife for preserving your efforts in detail painting.

Excellent model.
