Hi, new to forum and model boating. Im about to buy the gm33 in 1/12th from Models by Design, but i dont know what motor i need to buy to go in it to acheive the right speed etc. Im buying the accesories kit also so ill have the shaft prop n rudder already, thow i dont know what size the suplied prop is. Im also purchasing a package with servo, battery, speed controller, receiver and transmiter from Hobbies for £80 as i dont really know what im looking for, is this the right thing to buy?

Simply ask Andy and he will tell you what motor to fit

Sort out the motor first, then you will know what speed controller you need.
As Stav says, ask Andy, he is very helpful and with his guidance you will get
the right gear first time and avoid costly mistakes.

Heartily endorsed. The problem with packages is that they often end up being totally unsuitable to anyone except the supplier. The motor and prop size are paramount; that will dictate the battery size and voltage and also the speed controller. The rudder servo and, to a greater extent, the type of radio are very much secondary matters.
