TAMCO 6 ch tx and receivers
« on: August 07, 2016, 05:58:56 pm »

Being new to the hobby I was and am very pleased with the Tamco system I bought but I have 2 questions that maybe somebody can help with.

First the standard receiver is called a 7 channel, the power connects to the plug in the "7 channel" but it also has a signal line. I hear rumors that its for telemetry but the TX hand set does not seem to have any way of looking at it. What am I not understanding, it the 7th channel accessable or is it a possible future upgrade the company have not introduced yet?

Second, the 7 channel receivers are not as common as the four channel (is it 4?) so I was wondering if the TX will bind with anything other than the recommended 7 channel device?

Pleased to hear that Ned, he has some good items, his 4.8 batteries are very competitivly priced so I got one, an rx and a charger, fully intend to get more once the initial order comes through as this was my first "test" order with them/him

I understand that people may not have tried binding different receivers but im still bemused about this 7th channel and what its all about

Kevin

Provided the Tamco 4 and 7 channel receivers use the same modulation technique, then you will be able to bind them both with your transmitter. As for the seventh channel. If you use an ESC with a battery eliminator circuit (BEC) the you don't need (mustn't use) a separate receiver battery, therefore channel 7 could be used as a control channel IF you had a 7 channel transmitter. It is not uncommon to have more channels on the receiver than the transmitter - I suspect that is the way the ICs are made.

Barrie
Just done some Googling - and I don't see a 4 channel Rx listed anywhere. I did find a 3 channel which uses a different technique to your 6 channel.
