scratchbuilt crane
« on: August 12, 2016, 10:56:15 am »

Hi,

This is a project i've been working on for a few years now. A 1/25th scale scratchbuilt crane fabricated from plastic sheet etc.

It's a Demag PC9600. There was only one ever built for Grayson White Sparrow. It's now owned by Sarens.

Not done anything on it for about 2 years. Been looking at how to motorize it using reversible pulse width modulators. It will be about 7 metres high when fully rigged.

When the real crane is rigged with 112m main jib and 70m fly jib it can reach about 170m.  When reduced to 1/25th scale your looking at 6.8metres  :-)
