It helps if you put a bit of a curve on the rail before you attach them. Wet the rail and place a bit of wet paper towel over it. Then run the hot barrel of a soldering iron along the rail while gently pulling it into a curve.  It doesn't have to be an exact match but a little curve helps you pull it into place when you're gluing. I've used superglue in the past quite successfully.

Hi
I found by steaming the wood over my cup of tea kettle with the lid up works well.
Using a pre-made curve which is a bit more of the curve required works better.
The more curve is easier to pull into  the boat.
The next boat I will test adding the bottom and sides, then adding the spray rails before adding the deck.
My get my clamps down to hold the rails in place easier!!!

Hi Boxer
Are the spray rails for the  FAIREY SWORDSMAN that you are  building
if so
when I built the one in   - A PLAN FOR BEGINNERS I used balsa wood for them and just glued them on with super glue  :-))

super glue will glue wood that's wet. If I want to curve balsa wood I put it in a bucket over night then using an old piece of towel wet wrapping it around wood pop in micro wave for 30 second (towels gets very hot)wood will bend lovely, but tape to curve with masking tape let it cool then glue it perfect  :}
