Steam power unit for a Krick Borkum
« on: September 27, 2016, 01:22:50 pm »

Advice / suggestions as to a suitable vertical boiler and engine unit would be much appreciated.

Would prefer to buy a ready made unit but quite happy to scratch build or kit build.

Thank you.

Krick manufacture steam engine plant kits/packages for their range of vessels.......had you considered one of these?......

The benefit is that the additional components ...[gas tank...fittings....de-oiler] are available, listed and you know exactly what you will end up with and they also compliment each other for size/capacity etc ....the image below is [I think] from Cornwell Models......but other stockists carry their range

At first they may seem expensive, but then model steam is certainly not an inexpensive hobby %)

Derek

Many thanks for your reply.

Have contacted Cornwall Model Boats and  will go with the Krick option as advised.

Thank you.
