My First R/C Boat-----Clyde Puffer
« on: August 13, 2007, 04:21:39 PM »

 :)Hello,
I have now started to build my very first R/C Boat. Model Slipway's puffer comes recommended for the complete novice in this field.
Part of the additional accessories is " Humbrol Model Filler". I would be pleased if anyone could point me in the direction of a source or is there an alternative.
Thanks & regards Ceres. :) :) :)

Any good model shop should have Humbrol filler, especially those that sell plastic kits. Revell aslo do a filler. Of the two I prefer Humbrol. But thats just me.

Ceres

A quick google for plastic model filler came up with the following:

http://www.modelsforsale.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=36488

http://www.abcmodelsport.net/p345077/Humbrol-E3016-31ml-Model-Filler.html

I expect there are more.

humbrol filler is fine, its easy to work with and if you add ' plasweld' to the filler you can 'thin it'  this allows the filler to be softeneded and blended and worked.....

i hear both  the filler and plasweld are available from modelbox in bracknell via mail order.........

but i guess any good modelshop should be able to supply these items........

Hi Ceres try Ontracks. Good web site and a very efficient  family run company who hold numerous awards for their service. I have used them on many occasions and they are excellent.

If you have a Hobbycraft superstore near you, they stock it.

Hello Ceres,

It would be great to see some photos of the construction of your Puffer! Good luck with it!

Best wishes
