Hi Der!
« on: November 17, 2016, 03:04:41 pm »

I'm a little bit late with my intro as i've already made numerous posts!

Anyway better late than never :D

My name is Daz & i'm 40 years young & Live in the sunny!! North West, Chester (no harm in dreaming!), Although i've always had a think for Marine Models (mostly Tugs) ..I have only ever built one & that was about 12-13 years ago which was the Amsterdam Tug by Artesania Latina, however i never got to complete it due to family commitments/work/time etc.

I've always had a thing for RC models, mostly off road buggy types. For the past 15 years i've owned an FG Monster Beetle Pro (pic below!) its basically a 1/6 scale 29cc 2-stroke model & over the years i've hopped it up to how it is now, these types of models in the Off road RC world are known as "Largescale". Ive also built many plastic kits of war planes from a young age, but again I've not built any for a good few years.

I've now decided to build an RC Tug, except this time Ive decided to build one a little bigger, its the TID Tug & the Hull is from Models By Design which measures around 71", its a semi-kit but i'm going to be building it based on the "Anteo" tug. Build thread is here: http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,56353.0.html

Anyway like i say, i've already made numerous posts on here! I regard myself as a "newbie" to RC Model boats in general but i'm looking forward to this build :)

Other than RC models Im also a bit of PC Freak, past 20+ years I've built many PC's, I also do coding & website design etc, I also do Mountain Biking, either Cross Country stuff, Trail Centers such as Coed-Y-Brenin, but at times its not too great health wise when you fall of and end up breaking a few bones! ha!

Anyway, thanks so far to those of you that's been helping me with things to do with my build, i'm sure there's going to be plenty more questions once the build actually starts (just waiting for my hull to be made as its made to order)

My other Toy :D

Cheers guys/gals! :)

Yes and welcome Daz, from the other part of the world........keep us posted on that motor/shaft/prop/stern bearing combination....

Good alignment will be critical  O0......

[cameras do funny things {-)...in the 1st image the VW rear types appear smaller than the front....but another image confirms front & rear tyres are the same size & profile]
