The AGM of the Great Yarmouth MBC was held on 5th December 2016 and Committee for the next year are as follows:

Chairman: Steve Dean (as in Pool Master & Commentator at the International Model Boat Show)
Treasurer: Mike Warnes - re-elected
Secretary: Dave Hubble - re-elected
The Club has four additional Committee Members; Eddie Bully, Jim Middleton, Dave Fountain & Bill Sells.

The GYMBC sails and operates model trucks at the Venetian Waterways located on North Beach, Great Yarmouth (just North of Brittania Pier).
The Club welcomes new members who prefer boats or trucks or both!
We also welcome visitors (holiday makers) who are in the area whether for a weekend away or enjoying a holiday.

Hi Danny,

Thanks for your comments. We had a really good session today at the Waterways ...... lots of people and boats.
We then did our best to consume one of the beach front cafe's ...... no room left for Turkey now !!!!!

Some of you may interested to know that after a considerable amount of work by Great Yarmouth Council in partnership with Great Yarmouth Preservation Trust an award has been made by the Heritage Lottery Fund of £1.8 Million for a major restoration of the Venetian Waterways and the Boating Pool in the North Beach area on the seafront.
Many years ago the parkland area around the Waterways had stunning flower beds and these will now be reinstated and looked after by full time horticultural staff. The buildings and shelters (known as rusticated thatched huts) will be repaired and the concrete edging around the Waterways will be repaired where necessary. GYMBC has use of one of these buildings.
The Boating Pool will undergo substantial renovation and a new cafe will be constructed on the island in the centre of the pool. When complete, people will be able to rent rowing boats and/or paddle boats like they could years ago.
This is a very exciting project and GYMBC is delighted to have supported the Council & Trust in achieving this funding.
If you are in the in the area on a short break or holiday then we would be pleased to have you visit us at the Waterways ...... there's usually some of us sailing (or trucking) most Sunday mornings.
