Because you can never have too many projects on the go at any one time, I started another one!
This one has been on the back burner for a couple of years. In which time I have collected many bits and pieces to detail it up. Who would choose to model a jungle?!
The centrepiece of the diorama is a pair of rather fine dinosaur models by Pegasus Models, a T-Rex and Spinosaurus. The first job was to construct the base. This is a mix of an MDF base board, with a combination of plywood and balsa wood structures, arranged around what will become a fast moving stream, hopefully! The plywood parts are intended to support the two dinosaurs. These are very heavy, being made from solid vinyl parts.

Sadly, there was no room for my little friend here, with his unexpected fish meal. Wherever I placed him in the diorama, it looked wrong. The only option would be to make the base bigger, not really an option, it's already big.
Therefore, I shall do some simple detailing only, to this little complementary side diorama.

I am looking forward to the base detailing, not looking forward to the details in the stream, and looking forward to trying to make model foliage. Dinosaur painting, done that before, great fun.

Ohh yes, it comes apart for storage and transportation too.

Watch this space for more updates form the late Cretaceous Period :-))

Are you building them for your own entertainment or for an educational display for a school? I can't wait to see the water effects:O)

Purely for my own entertainment..and to see what our fellow members faces look like when I bring it to a static display!
I am also looking forward to the water..with trepidation.

It'll need Doug McClure with a Lee-Enfield in it somewhere!  %%

Loved that film, saw it at the Odeon, North End. Might have been one of my first cinema experiences, after Pinocchio that is :-)
