It has a very italian style compared with contemprary US cars. I hope your source for reasonably priced paint is still around as you should get a stunning gloss finish on that HOOOOOOGE body shell.

Hi all well ive cut the doors out and got some piano wire, so it looks like its going to have working doors (gulp) been downloading pics of the engine but they all serm to show one side or the have a mahoosive air filter on so i cant see where some pipes go so ive been guessing.
Still no internet or phone and weve been informed it may be another fortnight(got to get permision to shut the road, so on and so forth) anyway will post pics when i can, dont know when thats likely to be.

I like the wash on the chrome. It makes the engine look used but not neglected.

Hi all another update, got some primer on (its halfords plastic primer) Ive used it loads of times and never had this reaction before

It's on both the doors (which were part of the body till I cut them out, so all the same plastic and yet the car body seems unaffected

Seems strange will strip the doors and re spray them, hopefully that will correct it.

Had this before myself and I personally put it down to myself putting far to much on in one go and a reaction taking place....it is a classic scratch opening and not so much a reaction

I've had that before, but never could find out what caused it. The only way I could get round it was to strip the paint completely off and start again.

Keep the black as an undercoat, sand it matt and spray it gunmetal grey using the black . If you can find a fine grained metallic to keep it scale looking all the better.

after hunting through my springs collection I found these

Sometimes the knowledge that you have made an effort to improve on it has to suffice. I have read of where tank modellers will detail and weather the underside of a model even though a judge or even they will only see a very small part of it especially if fixed to a diorama. You have the enjoyment of a job done better.

Does the suspension work with the real springs in?

I'm wondering (since I've made it gull wing) should I do away with the door handles move them further down or turn them sideways.
