Boat plans for 43" Range Safety Launch
« on: January 21, 2017, 02:58:22 pm »

Im trying to establish the content of Plan MM412 from Hobbycraft.
The two sheets that I already have do not show the Keel  or side view of the boat?
These 2 sheets were kindly sent to me by JD some time ago but I'm sure there is another sheet as shown
on the Belair kit website for this launch.
If anyone does happen to know about this plan  I would be most grateful.

Their website describes it as a two sheet plan, so it would seem you have all there is. But no keel or side view seems odd for a Vic Smeed plan  {:-{

Hi there

For the Thorneycroft Range Safety Launch by Vic Smeed

: Plan 1 MM412A - sheet 1 of 2 shows side profile and some frames

: Plan 2 MM412B - sheet 2 shows top view and side profile of cabin

: Plan 3 MM412A - sheet 2 of 2 shows cabin frames and structure

: Plan 4 MM412B - sheet 2 of 2 shows top view and keel profile and other building parts
4 sheets of plans

Hi bluebird,
Many thanks, I was sure there must have been more sheets than I had.
It seems I am missing plans 1 and 4 according to your list.
I have MM 412A sheet 2
and     MM 412B sheet 1

What troubles me now is MyHobby shop only talk about 2 sheets for sale with MM412 and there would appear to be 4?

I am thinking of making this launch with the aid of the Belair kit but I would need all sheets of the plan.
I'm not particularly expert at scratch building so would need all the help I can get!
Any suggestions re the missing sheets?

maybe they double sided the plans originally, or at a subsequent point, and yours have just had one side reproduced?

Yes, I never gave that scenario a thought Grendel?

So, perhaps the MyHobbyshop plans being 2 sheets are in fact double sided.

I'll have to wait til Monday to contact them

Unless anyone knows the answer to MM412 plans.

I have checked my copy of the plan purchased in 1980 and it consists of two sheets, The construction and scale details are all shown.

John,
Are your two sheets double sided?
Only the post from Bluebird clearly refers to 4 sheets which really puzzles me?
The two sheets that I have do not show any side views or of the keel shape?

I have not been able to gain any info at all from MyHobby shop - they are simply a middle man in the process
of obtaining prints from a supplier  to order.

Looking at the plan photos I can see that they have split each sheet into two. The side view and plan views are on the same sheet in set but are on separate sheets in the photos. These must be new prints done on a printer unable to print the full width as on the earlier printers. The older plans are on two sheets and the later ones are on four sheets is the conclusion.
