« on: February 23, 2017, 08:44:42 am »

If anyone is in the Great Yarmouth / Caister-on-sea area of Norfolk on 30th April 2017 you may be interested to know that Caister Lifeboat Station has an open day with a model show.
The Lifeboats 'Bernard Matthews II' and 'Fred Dyble' will be on display outside their large building and the historic Liverpool Class lifeboat 'Shirley Jean Adye' will open for inspection in the museum/visitor centre.
The space in the large building will occupied by a display of model boats and trucks involving a number of clubs from Norfolk and Suffolk. Weather permitting the model trucks will be operating outside giving displays.
Entry is FREE and fun for both young and not so young!
Caister Lifeboat Station operates independently from the RNLI is a Charitable Trust reliant on fund raising and public donations.
The station is located in Tan Lane, Caister-on-sea, Norfolk, NR30 5DJ

Breaking news ........
Some of you may have known Jerry Garner from Worcester who sadly died last November. Jerry was a very prolific builder of large scale model lifeboats and a keen member of the Lifeboat Enthusiasts Society. We have been contacted By Adrian Clutterbuck of the LBES and following the dispersal of Jerry's models the family have decided to donate the monies raised to the Caister Volunteer Lifeboat Service. Arrangements are being made for Adrian & Sue to attend the Model Day on Sunday 30th April at the Caister Lifeboat Station to make a formal presentation. We are also providing exhibition space so as Adrian can promote the LBES.
This is a wonderful gesture by the family and will be very gratefully received by all those involved in the lifeboat station.
We look forward to having Adrian & Sue join us and don't forget if you are in the Great Yarmouth / Caister area on the date above this event is free of charge. Sea, Lifeboats, chips and ice-cream ...... what's not to like !!!! :-))
