GRP Hull information needed.
« on: January 27, 2017, 05:24:03 pm »

Hello all,  Please could anyone steer me in the right direction, as I would like to find any suppliers that would make a one off GRP hull of the current vessel I am serving on. The Ship is a Subsea support vessel, and I could obtain drawings and supply heaps of pictures for the hull manufacture.I would be most grateful if anyone could help in my quest.Kind regards Jon

If you able to get hold of the hull line plans Jon why not have a go at building her yourself, i started a hull build of the Grampian Defiance just before the xmas but had to put her on hold because of the cold weather. hoping to restart the build once it gets a bit warmer  :-))

Morning chipchase,

It's a great idea, and If I was a wee bit more confidant in building Model boats I would have a good crack at it.

However I have to hold my hand up at needing help, with only just coming back into Model Boat building after a number of years away from it.

Many thanks for your great and welcome comment though.

Get in touch with one of the local clubs in your area Hoylake and Wirral.  I think some of the members there have made their own hulls.

Good morning Joe,

Many thanks for your really helpful advise, I have looked into clubs around the Wirral area, so shall make contact with them and see if any local members can help.

Many thanks once again,

Hey there Dj,

I sent them an e mail yesterday. Not heard anything back as yet.

Am still Offshore in Caspian sea at the moment, so if not heard back from them in next few days, I will call them when I get back to blighty.

Best regards
