Robertsonics Sound Module
« on: February 03, 2017, 04:01:40 pm »

I have been playing around with the Sparkfun Wav Player for a few years. It's a very clever, high quality sound board which will feature in my T.A.R.G.E.T. project.

Whilst I love the product it has a few shortcomings from being the ulitimate board for what I want to do - I had some email correspondance with the creator last year and tried some pre-release firmware but things didn't work out.

And now this beauty will hit the markets soon - http://robertsonics.com/tsunami/

Based on a Arm Cortex 7 chip it will pack some serious punch.

I can't wait to get my hands on one - and make it fit our hobby - it will be able to do many things but one head line is it will be able to play 8 proportional engine sounds at the same time as well as up to 24 additional CD quality sound tracks - all at the same time if you wanted.

I have posted about this guy Jamie Robertson (I am in awe of his work at Walt Disney Imagineering) before on Mayhem - here is a video about him https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9vM_JQtero

Interesting to hear what he says @ 09:40 onwards on the video

Watch this space - If sounds your thing - trust me it will revolutionise what you can do with sound in a model.....

I think it's the way I have learnt most of my stuff - getting very stuck first...
