Just two weeks now to our annual steam open day.So if your passion is steam power come along on Sunday the 23 April. Boilers will need up-to-date paperwork testing will be done on the day. Although the events theme is steam you are welcome to visit with other model types.  No I/C fast electric will be asked to operate at a slow speed due wildlife on the water.

Hello,

The Steam Day was Fantastic !!!!!!!!.
Very, very enjoyable.
The Steam models were almost beyond belief, both in Size and complexity.
Working Winches, huge Boilers and propellers.
One of the boats had a riveted metal Hull, and weighed 10 stone, 63,1/2 Kilos !!!!.
Happy to tow the Rescue boat with a large, heavy chap on it, around the Lake !!.
As an Engineer myself, I have never seen boats like them before.
The folk there treated me like Family, I had a big smile on my face all the way Home !!!!!!.
Do your selves a Favour - - - don't miss the next one !!

HI after a good nights sleep and a very busy Monday I have found time to re-size some pictures from Sunday's event.  The day went very well  with 19 steam models on display. The model that was awarded best steam model would you believe used unleaded fuel to drive the boiler. Clubs in attendance came from York, Potteries, Crewe,
TSMEE, Balne Moor, St Helens, Sheffield. The steam models on display ranged from tugs to cargo vessels and lakeland steamers. Other model types were also to be seen on the day. The first few pictures are of the award winning model. More pictures to follow.
