Graupner 900 motors some help needed volts/Rpm
« on: February 12, 2017, 06:59:34 pm »

Hi all,

I was having a tidy out and found two graupner 900 Torque motors
Still boxed and not used.

I know the rpm at 12v is 6500
However would anyone now how the rpm will increase per volt added?
Say 18V =
And of course 24V

Many thanks

Don't use the Graupner 900 above 12volt.
Look at the stall current.

54amps stall current.
Range 6V - 40V
Nominal 12V
It's quite good idle current wise though.

Mike, when will you be releasing a new 40amp Esc??

At 12volt there was already enough energy in this motor to pop a bait boat supplier's well known brand escs. It was ok with my esc though. :-)   I suggest you connect wires to one of the 900 motors and to 12v and 24v battery. Where you make the connection it will have a tendency to weld together and erode contacts.

The idle current is only another numerical indicator of an efficiency peaking at less than 20% of stall current, as is the peak of 71%. A higher or lower idle figure loses significance if you load the motor down below 70% of no load rpm. If you don't use its high torque capability you may as well sell the pair to get four 800 equivalents.
