A wide and varied selection of model boats - good to see and you must be justifiably proud of them all - well done Baz. :-))

Regards,

Ray.

P.S. Nice size workshop to. :-)

The container ship is wonderful, I bet you had lots of fun designing and assembling the containers. Are they a hollow box made of containers, or are there undecorated ones inside making a block?

Lovely fleet Baz  :-))

Some very nice models there Baz, it is a rewarding hobby seeing something appear from flat bits of wood etc.
Here are a couple of pictures of my mates Tug collection, all but two built by me over the last. 10years or so, most are 1/24th scale with a few 1/32nd ones.

The containers are just hollow blocks x 7.  The photo shows the first lot of blocks, later on I put new container images on, this time with better quality photo paper plus laminating.  When I did the block images it was a winter project on the computer as it took quite a bit of work to resize all the containers to the scale.
It was too much to make individual Containers plus all the lettering and numbering.  Only last week I came across a superb site on the web that has free block or separate images of containers in different scales.  Would have saved me countless hours had it been about when I was sorting them.

Here's the tug at an early stage, could not chuck scrap bits of wood away.  Plus the Oil Deck, all pipe work is "Kid's straws"

Thanks for sharing your container making method Baz, it looks very realisitic. Getting all the angles right on your tug hull must have been a challenge as they change a little each time as you follow the frames around. Lots of measuring and checking etc.

Many thanks for all the comments, really appreciated.  As yesterday was a lovely sunny day I cut the frames for my new ship which will be a P & O Freight Only Ro-Ro, scale 1/124.  The tug has a home made sound system which is very effective and cut the cost of a commercial bought system by 75%.  It incorporates twin speakers, micro amp and MP3 player.  Very easy to link them together plus spending15 minutes on the Web.

I started off with nothing and still have most of it left.
