Ariel/antenna whips
« on: February 18, 2017, 09:31:11 pm »

Hi All, All three of my boats have Ariel/antenna whips that have come off.All are metal. Shall I try and solder them back on or try the old trusted glue to mount them back on. Thank you

I think ,without photos of the aforesaid damage, it would be hard for anyone to recommend what steps to take to repair or replace them.

I stand to be corrected on this, but as long as the antenna wire is still in one piece, glue should do.
If you are going to solder, silver solder has more structural strength.

As said above, if it is just the support that is broken, glue and/or a splint.  Also as said, pictures of the damage reduces the guesswork.
