Excellent!  Happy with the quality of the wood?

Hi Martin,

The wood is ok ,but not quite as nice as the previous kit I built  (Bella)  although it was less than half the price.
I guess you get what you pay for most of the time.
If i can get a similar result to Bella I will be happy.

Hi Spud,
It looks like you are doing a good job on your build.

I have one of these kits, you have spurred me on to make some progress with it.
As this will be my first build i have spent a lot of time reading up and searching for build logs on the tinterweb.
May i ask what glue you are using? Have you any thoughts on sealing, varnish, paint, prop/propshaft, motor and electrics?

I have decided to install a brushless outrunner so i will need to modify the motor mounting position and i am upgrading the propshaft to 4mm with a brass prop.
I also intend to have working lights controlled by an RC relay.
I am trying to do as much of the mods as possible before i put the side pieces on to allow more room for my fingers and a better view.

Good luck with your build and please can we have lots more photos.

Hi Spud, what is the white mat with cutouts for the frames? Is it part of the kit or a jig that you designed? If the latter, that is a clever idea!

Hi sorry for butting in but it's a Depron jig that comes in the Kit.

Thanks for the comments

Hi  skierdive

I'm using Titebond 2 premium wood glue , it's only water resistant not waterproof, only the 2nd time I have used it so far so good , I just don't know about it's longevity. ... Not decided on the finish yet but I up date as I go along. Good luck with your build

Hi ballastanksian
Daleb is right it does come with the kit , it's the 2nd aeronant kit I have built and both use the same method which works pretty well

No problem butting in Daleb, have you built any of the aeronant range?

Spud.....

Titebond II is a good glue, however before you go too far with any covering deck work, you could consider applying a thinned coating of Z-Poxy to all internal surfaces

In the thinned state, you can apply with a brush to all of the vertical surfaces & joints, then pour a small quantity into the hull & tilt & float until the liquid has covered all of the horizontal surfaces

Some builders do one side of the verticals at a time & use a hair dryer to set the thinned Z-Poxy off before proceeding with the opposite side & then the horizontals last

Titebond III is the next step up and termed as waterproof, however I would never intentionally allow water to sit for a prolonged period against a glued joint

Hi Spud,
I'm building the Aero-Naut Jenny at the moment...quite a simple but effective jig that piece of Depron, how are you finding the Diva?

Hi Derek
I haven't seen Titebond III anywhere for sale , I will look out for the z-poxy . Normally I would paint the inside with resin to help waterproof it.

Daleb
Overall I'm happy with the kit for the money , not sure if it's suitable for a beginner. I will be changing the prop, prop shaft and coupler.

Hi Ned

That's the place the Titebond II came from, I didn't see any other,  I will try a different  store
Thanks
